Benighted they in shadows slink,
Devices programmed by the night.
And had they ever seen the sun,
Or known the wonders of the light,
That vintage nectar’s now forgot;
They lesser, health-less waters drink.
To think, to see, to know the way –
To think and not to thought-for be!
To see in brighter, screen-less glow!
What sights that light through windows show,
Illuminate the path below
The feet that tread they know not where!
Oh would they saw as seeing things!
As being-things each other know!
This hall is dark, and day forbids.
Let light then open all the doors,
And fill this cursed, spring-less place!
